BLANKET OF THE SUN
When nothing ever seems
to go your way and you tire
of combatting a flotilla of gnats
nipping at you one after another
and you’re running out of breath
even after you followed the superb
advice of Pema Chodron in her book,
“When Things Fall Apart,” there is only
one thing left to do: Get naked and lie
down on the velvety smooth lawn of a
noon day sun and breathe deeply until
you feel like you’re being bathed in un-
conditional love. When you awaken all
worries will have vanished, leaving behind
only a sunburn to remind you to always
breathe deeply when overwhelmed with
frustrations.
